Backhoe

General Information:
The course is designed to train participants up to the OH&S Competency Standards required for operators of loadshifting equipment.

This machine, generally speaking, is a combination of both the excavator and front end loader. Its capacity to dig and also carry is limited in comparison to each of the individual machines. However, there is very much a skill required to competently operate such a machine.

Those seeking a machine with multi operational capabilities will be well rewarded upon obtaining their licence for the backhoe. Councils, plumbers, small civil contractors and land developers require the skills of a competent backhoe operator.

Who should attend:
Existing operators who may require upskilling or students seeking to enter the earthmoving industry with a goal of enhancing their employment prospects.

Number of Participants:
1-3 per machine

Pre Requisites:
At all times, students must display a mature approach with regard to not only their safety but that of their fellow students. Students must attend in appropriate work attire i.e. no joggers, thongs etc and provide proof of identification.

Qualification/Certificate:
Nationally Recognized Certificate of Competency in the Workplace - Conducted in accordance with National Guidelines For Occupational Health & Safety Competency Standards For The Operation Of Load shifting Equipment And Other Types of Specified Equipment.

This intensive 3 day course is designed for students with no previous experience in the operaton of the backhoe. Again, daily rates are available for those students with previous, but limited experience.
